There are three factors which are directly related to the post-catch procedure: cooling, time they remain packaged, and temperature inside boxes, which have a significant effect on the survival and health of Panulirus cygnus lobsters during transportation. It was suggested that mortality speed could be decreased either by extending the cooling time or through lower temperatures. The benefit lies in decreasing their activity for the time they remain packaged and also decreasing the speed of their metabolism when being transported alive.

The fact that most studies did not separate ischemic from hemorrhagic stroke, may account for differences in assessing the effects of fish consumption on stroke risk. To provide a reliable quantitative assessment of the relationship of fish intake with stroke risk, we conducted a meta-analysis of all prospective cohort studies with relevant data. The results show that individuals with higher fish intake had lower risk of total stroke. The reduction in risk of total stroke was statistically significant for fish intake once per week. Beneficial effects on stroke risk appeared to increase with greater fish intake. For individuals who ate fish ≥5 times per week, the risk of stroke was lower by 31%

Researchers are constantly looking for ways to make seafood production more efficient. One of these ways is through the use of genetic modification or gene splicing. In aquaculture, gene splicing has been demonstrated to increase the growth rates of fish. Some of the other demonstrated beneficial areas are those of freshness, safety, cost, and taste. Although the fish potentially can be produced more efficiently, there are health and environmental concerns as perceived by the general public.

Many rules in business are changing with ever greater speed. Strategic planning is a practice that has withstood the pounding of time and managerial fashions. Although experience has shown that this is a vital process, we still refuse to do it and even more so, when our company is managed by the family. It must be acknowledged that the term “strategic planning” is still somewhat unknown by most business people. Many do not even consider the possibility of having a process of this nature in their companies and in fact, many cultures privilege action above planning. Those who analyze too much before making a decision are not well regarded. There are those who may be familiar with some elements in the process and estimate they have the plan in their minds and do not require putting it on paper, considering this to be an annoying loss of time.

Kinarca, a Spanish company, was established in Vigo in 1986, due to the need of satisfying the demands of an increasingly demanding market as far as naval and industrial cold storage facilities is concerned. Along its course of business, Kinarca has specialized in the design, set-up, supply, repair, and the provision of technical assistance at the national as well as the international level. “There is not much of a competition in our sector. We also have exported machinery to Latin America, such as in the case of Venezuela, for a plant of the private sector that processes sardines,” explains J. Ramón Quintana Laduz, Kinarca’s Commercial Manager.

The eating habits a child acquires between the age of 3 and 11, although they may be partially corrected at a later stage, will condition his or her eating habits as an adult; hence, a balanced diet, both at home and in the school, is essential for the child’s healthy development and growth.
